John R. Barker
John Barker is senior vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary for ONEOK and senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for ONEOK Partners.
He joined the company in December 2004 after a 30-year career with the Tulsa law firm of GableGotwals. While president of GableGotwals, Barker represented ONEOK on a regular basis on business and transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial matters including sales and acquisitions of significant assets and public securities offerings.
A Vietnam veteran, Barker is a past member of the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. He is past president of St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home and currently serves as trustee of the St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home Foundation. He has also served on the board and as president of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa.
A Missouri native, Barker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969 from the University of Missouri in Columbia, and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1974 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
